You can't remember Christmas.........

Jarred and I were discussing who we thought should have been in the Super Bowl this weekend. I said it would have been cool if it was the Patriots and the Packers since they haven't been there since 1997. Jarred looked at me with this kind of bewildered/slightly turned on look and said,"How do you remember who was in the Super Bowl in 1997? You don't even remember Christmas!" Well, I'm not sure. I can't remember what I got for Christmas, but I can tell you where every Sonic is within a 30 mile Radius of my home. I don't remember preforming at my Grandparents 50th, but I can tell you what I was wearing in every school picture K-12. So I guess I just remember the important stuff. Right?

I hate it when I'm reminded of how old I am. I was talking to a friends teenage daughters on Friday as I was helping them get ready for a dance. This is how the stupid conversation went:

Me: Hey, I love your head band! Where the crap did you get that? I want one.
Girl: Oh, I got it at "Claire's" in the mall. They have different colors too.
Me: Fun, I haven't been to "Claire's" since my junior year in high school when I was picking out jewelry for a dance. Hmmm, I think it was 1995.
Girl: Hey! That's the year I was born.
Me: Nice.


What the crap! When did I get so old?

"Terrible Tuesday"

Yes it's that time again. Time for another installment of "terrible Tuesday." I actually thought that it was going to be a Wonderful Tuesday when I woke up this morning, but sadly that was not the case. IT happened as I was hooking up my New DVD player, which by the way did you all know how cheap they are? When we bought our first one 7 years ago we paid like $400 for it. Now you pay like $30! Anyway, back to my story. So I'm hooking up the DVD player and my adorable Simon is playing "peek-a-boo" with some unseen object and really enjoying himself. Well he got a little carried away and poked him self right in the freaking eye with his finger and it's way too long nail that mommy hasn't trimmed in weeks. My bad, but before I can get over to him to start the consoling process he puts his head down and bumps his eye again except this time it hits the flap of the card board box I have just removed said DVD player from. Yikes! We all know how bad it hurts to bump your eye on something, but to do it twice in a row. Painful! He then cries for the next two hours as I call all the doctors trying to get him in to see one of them. No luck, so I just take him to the "Urgent Care" right by my house and they see him in like 10 minutes. Whew! As turns outs poor baby Simon has got a HUGE scratch on his cornea that he has to take pain killers and weird eye ointment for. It literally takes two people to get this ointment in to his eye. This eye ointment is something I will never understand. With all the medical breakthroughs that we have in our day, why on earth can't they make this eye stuff in liquid form so that it is easier to put into a small child's eye? Thank you E. Fougera & CO. manufacturers of Ophthalmic Ointment USP for adding insult to injury on my already "Terrible Tuesday."

what did i spell wrong?

Many of you having been wondering what's up with my name on my profile and yes it is spelled wrong. Why you ask? Well it's because I freaked out a little bit ago when I googled myself and I actually came up. So I'm trying this for a while. Plus it irritates me when people call me COE like JOE so I replaced the E with an I in hope that others will catch on and see how to really pronounce it. How do you really pronounce it? Alright, the real pronunciation is.......drum roll please.......CO-EE lyn like ZOE+lyn(you know from Sesame Street) but I prefer KOI like the fish and spelled with an E. So call me which ever one you enjoy saying more, just don't call me COE(like JOE). I hate that!

So that's why.

It's no secret that my Oliver is a HUGE Corbin Bleu fan. He absolutely loves his new video for the new Disney Channel movie "Minute Men" and can't wait until the premier. But he said the cutest thing yesterday. He saw Corbin flashing a peace sign and said,"Mom, you know why Corbin does that? He does it because he's in "High School Musical 2" and that's why he shows us his two fingers."

I guess this was for "High School Musical 1" that's why he's only showing 1 finger.


I'm just glad the "peace" sign is the only thing Oliver is flashing.

The winds have changed

So it sounds like all our friends have done better than the Truschkes with the whole movie thing I just posted about. Jarred was a little upset all Monday at work feeling like he just threw away his identity and then LUCK showed it's stinking face after several months of being MIA. I won't go in to details, but Jarred and I are now firm believer in what our Dear friends made us do on Sunday. God remembered us!

Farewell! You will be missed!

Ok, so yesterday my hubby Jarred got in to a very deep conversation with our very good friend Cory. They were talking about blessings and how recently we felt like the Lord has kind of overlooked us. I mean, we know he hasn't, but we just can't seem to catch a break right now. Well, Cory suggested that maybe we need to get rid of all the negative things in our life right now and get all negative stuff out of our house because it's crippling the spirit. I totally agreed until I understood what he meant. He literally got a trash bag and made us get rid of all our Rated R movies! I'm not talking about dirty movies or anything, stuff like Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans, Office Space. Just the stuff that probably has too much cussing or violence. I know he's totally right and I never should have bought any of that stuff or seen it, but it was really hard for me to put it in the bag. Why is that? Why is it so hard for people to do what we should do even though we know it's what's best? So the movies are gone and I'm ok. The only thing I really regret is buying them at all. There was probably 20 DVD's. Multiply that by the the cost of the DVD's which is about $20 and it's almost $400! I can think of a lot of stuff I would have rather bought with $400 that a bunch of movies that were just going to get thrown away. Cory's coming over on Wednesday to help Jarred dump all his bad music too. Because we have great friends who look out for us and are such good examples, 2008 will forever be known as our year of cleansing!

Simon's Sunday Slumber

So lately this has been happening more and more. Simon taking his afternoon nap in the highchair.

Now before you feel sorry for this little "sleeping beauty" let me explain something. He won't sleep in his crib. This seem to be the location he prefers for slumber.


When he finally succumbs to his exhaustion of the day, I find it best to just leave him alone.

Chuck Norris and Mike Huckabee seem to be all over the media lately. And even though I remain undecided on who I want in the Oval office I remain firm on who would do best.

It's obvious that Chuck Norris as the Vice President of the United States is a great idea, but we all know that it's just one step towards Chuck Norris becoming President of the United States, then President of the World and then Master of the Universe.




If the Terminator can be governor of California then without a doubt Walker Texas Ranger will be the Greatest leader mankind has ever known.

So this election season don't vote based on race, religion or sex. Really read up on the candidates and choose wisely.

Why do I care?

When I first heard the news that Robert Pattinson got the part of "Edward" in the "Twilight" movie I was a little grossed out. "Cedric Diggory" people! Really? He's got this scary eye that doesn't quite look at you. Like Brad Pitts in "12 Monkeys". But then I started reading more about him and as it turns out the guy is actually kind of cool. He's a huge Jack Nicholson fan and his American accent is Flawless. As long and his hair is messy and he's not looking directly at the camera he can be kind of cute. Not exactly "beautiful" like "Edward" needs to be, but I guess he's not the worst choice.
I don't really know why I care so much. I am freakin' 30 after all!
