Simon-isms...

Today was "date day" for Simon-face and I. We go once a week and try to do different things. Today we went to the mall. On our way inside the mall our conversation went like this.
Me: Man it's sure hot out here, huh Simon?
Simon: Ya, the sun is burning my nipples.

I love the things this kid says! When we got home from the mall we had another conversation. I was pulling up my belly band back over my growing belly. Simon looked over at me and said, "Mom, I love your big belly with a baby in it. It makes you so, so pretty!" He always surprises me with the sweetest things, but still stays true to his little boy self. My most favorite thing is how he loves to be scared. He loves people jumping out to scare him or walking into a dark room and saying "WaHahahaha." Something he always says after he gets a little "fright" is, "Whoa, you scared me out of my crap!" A friend told me I needed to write this stuff down so I don't forget it. Write it down? Nah, blog it so it can be out there forever in internet history:o)

my Cute boy!

My mother in law sent this to me June of 2010 and I just found it in my email so I thought I would post it for all to see:o) We went to Pinnacle Peak in Tucson for My BIL Jonny's birthday. Fun Place. You should go if you haven't.

The Sabbath day and the Devil Car

Sometimes you just need to take a day off. My dear husband reminded me of that today. I woke up feeling not very good, but proceeded to get ready for church. He asked me what I was doing and told me I was allowed to take days off. I thought about it for a minute and realized I no longer had responsibilities to fulfill at church, so I did what anyone else would do. I took the day off, but only if Jarred didn't. I made him take the boys to church. As I sat on the couch after they left I began to think of all the things I forgot to do Saturday, namely pick up something to make for dinner. So I decided I would go get something, but when I got out to Jarred's car I discovered it was out of gas. I decided to go get some before I went to the store. His car was also completely filthy so when the pump asked if I wanted a car wash for $5 I of course pushed the "YES" button. I proceeded on to the car wash and entered my given code and began to pull forward. That's when I got the SHOCK of the year. Upon entering the wash, the windows sensing something was about to happen, immediately rolled half way down. Knowing the water was gonna spray me in seconds I screamed profanity and tried to roll them up, but they rolled down all the way this time. The water sprayed me one way and then the other. Just as the soap got to the rear view mirrors the windows randomly rolled up. I barely missed the soap in the face. Well I left there dripping wet and went to the store anyway, where I got dinner and made it home with a few minutes to rest before my Boys came home. So much for a relaxing day off. I guess that's what I get for not keeping the Sabbath day Holy. Lesson learned.

Too Hot to Have Hair!

Oliver Surprised me today and said he wanted a haircut. I was hot and tired but I've been trying to get him and Simon to cut their hair all Summer long so I wasn't about to turn him down. It's been too hot here for the kids to go out for recess. He finally got some much needed activity when soccer practice started Wednesday. I guess after that he made up his mind to corner Mom and get her to cut it. I knew if I gave Oliver one Simon would want one too. This is the mess of hair from both my boys. I measured the pieces from Oliver's cut and they were 4inches! Simon's were not quite 3inches but they both had a ton!
Here's my Handsome man posing for his Before shot.
He had to have a back view too.
Then it was Simon's turn. He was a little reluctant since he kind of enjoyed his "Beiber -do." Oliver was very convincing tho so he had to be just like big brother.
Before
And he needed a back shot too!

So here's the After pose
More Posing...

I wanted to do something different and have this be his After, but Oliver didn't agree.
So here's the real After pose
And of course he had to have another back shot.

They LOVED their new haircuts and even Jarred admitted they looked so much better. I just can't handle the boys having long hair during the hot months. So glad I have boys and not girls. I love my sweet handsome boys. Can't wait for #3!

hAPPY bIRTHDAY sWEETIE!

The 1st time Jarred and I actually met was on his Birthday 14 years ago. Of course he was frightened by me which isn't too different from our 1st interaction a year prior.
So yesterday was his 34th birthday! I couldn't find the #4 candle but somehow I had a "question Mark" candle. Very strange. I had been asking him for months to email his birthday "Wish List", but he never did. Grrr.... He said he didn't want anything. Really? My wish list is probably 2 pages long!
I wanted his birthday to be great so I just decided to make a list of all his most favorite foods and let him have a relaxing day. We got pedicures the Friday before and then went shopping for all the tasty goods the next day.
Sunday morning he woke up to his favorite: Creme Brule' French Toast with fresh fruit and turkey bacon. Since we don't get home from Church til after 2:00 and I wanted to eat dinner at 5:00, I thought we could just have a small lunch.
For dinner he got his favorite Fall dish "Squash Casserole." Weird Right? I know, what guy would pick that when he could choose anything? My guy does.
Later that night we had some friends and family over for Jarred's favorite cake ever "Hawaiian Wedding Cake!" It was a lot of fun. In fact Jarred said just that Happy Birthday song would have been enough. It was the most exuberant one ever! Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate Jarred's day.

It's official!

After about 4 years of saying I was gonna do it, I finally did it. I register for College.....again.
I haven't taken a college class since 1998 at E.A.C. Not really sure if I can count those as classes either. So now that I don't have a busy church calling consuming what little free time I have, I figured, what the hey. I mean, I might as well since it's basically free for our little family due to Jarred working at Rio. "What, Jarred works for Rio Salado College?" you say. Yes, it's true. Jarred has worked for the Maricopa Community College district for about 12yrs. Most people usually think he works for University of Phoenix, but that is incorrect. He works for Rio Salado College, BIG difference. And on September 6th I will begin my 1st class, Spanish 101. Yahoo!
Se Habla Espanol?

last year of Pre-School

So my baby began his last year of Pre-School today and it's a little bitter sweet for me.
He's growing up so fast and I still look at him and see my baby. My MIL was here yesterday and she couldn't stop loving on him(a weakness I have as well) because she swore he was the exact replica of his daddy. I've been saying this since Simon was born, but I'm glad she is so eager to agree with me.

It will be nice to not have a monthly preschool payment next year, but it's gonna suck to have 2 children whose homework I have to keep up. Kudos to my friends with 3+ kids! Don't know how you all manage.
Oh, my little boy! Please don't ever stop being your silly self. Sometimes I want you to be young forever, but I'm getting older so it makes sense that you would too. I love your naughty guts so much. And don't ever forget what your job is.....To love your Mommy and give her lots of Hugs and Kisses!

1st Day of School

1st Day of 3rd Grade!
My Little man is growing up so fast! He couldn't wait for this morning to come. I guess he was tired of all the chores I was making him do all Summer. I was tired of coming up with chores for him to do all Summer so I guess we both win. Simon was ecstatic and couldn't wait for total toy domination to begin, hehehe....
Love ya buddy, hope your day is Super!

A new Era...

I had a bit of a problem. It's been festering for about the last, say.....5 months. It will be manifesting sometime in the beginning of December.
My Bishop wanted to talk about this problem and how it will affect my work at Church with the Young Women. Well I was honest and said it would Greatly affect EVERY aspect of my life so something's gotta give and in this case it's gonna have to be Church. I can't work 30+ hrs a week, be a mom and wife and YW President. God said Family comes 1st so it's time I started doing that. But first I had to go to girls camp one more year.
We left on Thursday July 28th and came home Monday August 1st. Yup we were there over a week end. Kind of nice but not when your pregnant and have to wear a dress all day Sunday. The girls were great and the complaining was very minimal. I think it was because they liked wearing the socks, hee, hee...

August 4th they released me from YW. It was a little weird since I've been doing it for the last 4 years, not counting the 2 in my last ward. It's like this whole new world was opened to me! Now I can start doing things that I've been putting off. Like enrolling in some college courses. I might as well since they're free for me due to Jarred's job. Also, I've been neglecting my family for far too long so I better go and start mending some relationships. Hopefully they'll forgive me.
Wish me luck!

Weird how things change

So here it is, in all it's glory. My Belly at 19 weeks.
Five years ago when I was pregnant with Simon I never would have posted this, but today I find myself actually liking my belly. Probably because I can still do things like bend over and breath. I know I've gained 2 lbs a week since I conceived (you do the math), but I swear I'm pregnant with the sweetest baby boy ever so I don't really mind. We'll see how I feel after another 10 weeks.

Dinner time

Dinner time. I hate it, literally HATE! I wish I could just skip over that part of the day. Sunday nights dinner had EVERYONE including dad in tears. It was just mini Italian meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies. Does that sound like something to get hysterical about? Jarred's not a picky eater, he just has to have a lot of protein. I attended a Women's Conference put on by our stake last weekend where they offered a cooking class. One of the teachers had like 7 kids and they all seemed to be great eaters according to the recipes she gave us. My kids have not been fans so far. I'm at my wits end trying to come up with things to cook that has low carbs so my hubs can eat it, but kid friendly so I can avoid all the drama. Suggestions PLEASE!

Happy 40th!

I simply adore my parents. I mean look at them, they're adorable. My dad is a cross between John Wayne and Bob Newhart and my mom's world revolves around him. Today they celebrate 40 wonderful years together and couldn't be happier. As a gift, my siblings and I arranged for them to get their pictures taken at the Temple like they did 40 years ago today.

Here's to you Mom and Dad, you're the best!

Boobs!

So I bet if mine were bigger "somebody" would spend less time on the crapper. Seriously. I think "somebody" has spent about half a decade there.
"Food Nazi" begins her reign again tomorrow. This I vow!
