Yesterday started off pretty busy, and only got busier. My poor, sweet boys got neglected and never once complained. We usually have some down time to get in the pool around 2:00pm but we didn't even get our suits on until 6:00pm and still no complaining out of my little angels. We swam for about 45 minutes and then had to get out because some friends were coming over at 7:ishpm. So our friends came over and while "Mommy" was busy "Daddy" decided that it was the night to MAKE Simon stop sucking his thumb. My poor Simon who has been neglected all day and had no one to turn to but his loyal thumb was now having that very thing doused in Tapatio which is very much like Tabasco. Never did it occur to him that his beloved dat-EE would put something so terrible on his precious thumb. He just assumed it was a special treat so he gleefully shoved said thumb into his mouth only to find that it wasn't a treat but a Burning Inferno of Fire. He then proceeded to cry for the next two hours and would NOT go near Dear old Dad. This caused my still child-less friends to think "..........We're so not having kids EVER!" When the real thought should have been ".........I'm so never putting Tapatio on my sweet baby's thumb after a long hard day of neglect." This morning however Simon was back on good terms with his favorite appendage and seems to have forgotten all that transpired. We'll see how he feels about dad though when he get homes from work. Hopefully there will be the usually gleeful shouts of "dat-EE!" Children are so forgiving.

5 people were neglecting their kids:
Ahhhh....poor little Simon! I love when he sucks his thumb. If you guys keep neglecting him and abusing him, he's going to have to come live with me for more than a week! JK I'm sure that is going to be a hard habit to break!
So sorry...you could have done my hair while they swam...now that would have been neglect...right?
Monday...can you be there?
Aren't husbands great with their impeciable timing. Look at my most recent post and you will see what happend when my husband watched the kids.
I've got TWO thumb suckers. Their teeth are so jacked! I'm just hoping they get off it themselves. But I've noticed when it's been a rough day or they're tired or upset, the first thing they turn to is their thumb...and then their blankies, and then their stuffed animal of choice.
Poor kid! We're trying to get Gracie off of the pacifier, so Laurie cut the tip off of one of them yesterday. When Gracie put it in her mouth, she took it out real quick, and said, "My 'fire' is broken! Oh, NO!" It was funny, but we felt like mean parents... They'll thank us later!
