Weird how things change

So here it is, in all it's glory. My Belly at 19 weeks.
Five years ago when I was pregnant with Simon I never would have posted this, but today I find myself actually liking my belly. Probably because I can still do things like bend over and breath. I know I've gained 2 lbs a week since I conceived (you do the math), but I swear I'm pregnant with the sweetest baby boy ever so I don't really mind. We'll see how I feel after another 10 weeks.

Dinner time

Dinner time. I hate it, literally HATE! I wish I could just skip over that part of the day. Sunday nights dinner had EVERYONE including dad in tears. It was just mini Italian meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies. Does that sound like something to get hysterical about? Jarred's not a picky eater, he just has to have a lot of protein. I attended a Women's Conference put on by our stake last weekend where they offered a cooking class. One of the teachers had like 7 kids and they all seemed to be great eaters according to the recipes she gave us. My kids have not been fans so far. I'm at my wits end trying to come up with things to cook that has low carbs so my hubs can eat it, but kid friendly so I can avoid all the drama. Suggestions PLEASE!

Happy 40th!

I simply adore my parents. I mean look at them, they're adorable. My dad is a cross between John Wayne and Bob Newhart and my mom's world revolves around him. Today they celebrate 40 wonderful years together and couldn't be happier. As a gift, my siblings and I arranged for them to get their pictures taken at the Temple like they did 40 years ago today.

Here's to you Mom and Dad, you're the best!

Boobs!

So I bet if mine were bigger "somebody" would spend less time on the crapper. Seriously. I think "somebody" has spent about half a decade there.
"Food Nazi" begins her reign again tomorrow. This I vow!

Too many teeth...

Yesterday I went down an picked up my Utah fruit order before Oliver got home from school. We LOVE fruit here at Truschke central, so I ordered half a case of some Galas, half a case of Pears and a whole case of Peaches. Mmmmmm. I love that stuff. Well Oliver was so excited when he got home and saw 3 boxes of fruit! He asked if he could have an apple and I said yes. Then he started telling me a story about one of his friends eating an apple and it making their tooth come out. As soon as he was done with his tale he said, "I think my tooth is loose!" I gave it a wiggle and said I thought it had a couple more days and to bite his apple on the other side if it bothered him. He left the room and cam squealing back in 30 seconds later with his tooth.

I was amazed at how fast it fell out. It seems like it took weeks of wiggling to get that 1st tooth out. So I told him to just bite his apple on the other side. So he did but he came to me 2 minutes later and said his other tooth was loose. I of course thought the tooth needed a few more days of wiggling so I sent him away again and not 10 seconds later he came squealing back to me with yet another tooth!

Seriously, he pulled out two teeth in less than 10 minutes! I was amazed. Then he said he hoped the Tooth Fairy would bring him $120. I told him she couldn't possible carry that much $$ for every kid and is teeth aren't worth that anyway. $2 a tooth is the going rate so he shouldn't try to rip her off or she might stop coming. So this is my little Goobers mouth now. He said he feels like a "Reverse Vampire", cute huh? Jarred saw him after work and said how he hoped they grow in fast. Ditto!

Oliver was happy with the $4 he got especially since good portion of it was in coins. He insisted that it was $65, but I made him count it a little better. I in NO way wanted him to show up to school bragging about the $65 he got for his 2 teeth. If any teacher heard they might expect me to donate more time and money to the school than I already do.
And so begins the "Awkward Toothy" stage of Oliver's life. Nice....

Happy Birthday Bompa!

Sunday after church Jarred, the boys and myself went to meet Jarred's family in Tucson for dinner to celebrate His dads birthday. Jarred hardly sees his parents at all since they never come to visit so this was one of those things we needed to do.

And I of course couldn't pass up an opportunity to get a picture of Bompa on a saddle horse. The trip was well worth it for this shot alone! He was a good sport, I think because his grand kids were so excited to see him sit on it as they sang happy birthday. He's a great Bompa and his grand kids adore him.

This is Jarred's family. We don't have many pictures of us all together. Notice how the balloon is totally blocking the girlfriend in the back corner. It's funny because in every picture for the past few years that could have her in them, something always blocks her out of the shot. It's like fate. Oh my gosh, you can't plan stuff this funny!

And this is my niece "The Girl." Truschke's are very "Boy" so just the simple fact that we have one of these is amazing. Good thing she takes after her tiny dancer mom, otherwise who knows what we might have gotten. She is just precious and I love her bratty, little guts. She smiles like this every time she sees the light on the camera. What a Ham!!
