Happy Birthday Bompa!

Sunday after church Jarred, the boys and myself went to meet Jarred's family in Tucson for dinner to celebrate His dads birthday. Jarred hardly sees his parents at all since they never come to visit so this was one of those things we needed to do.

And I of course couldn't pass up an opportunity to get a picture of Bompa on a saddle horse. The trip was well worth it for this shot alone! He was a good sport, I think because his grand kids were so excited to see him sit on it as they sang happy birthday. He's a great Bompa and his grand kids adore him.

This is Jarred's family. We don't have many pictures of us all together. Notice how the balloon is totally blocking the girlfriend in the back corner. It's funny because in every picture for the past few years that could have her in them, something always blocks her out of the shot. It's like fate. Oh my gosh, you can't plan stuff this funny!

And this is my niece "The Girl." Truschke's are very "Boy" so just the simple fact that we have one of these is amazing. Good thing she takes after her tiny dancer mom, otherwise who knows what we might have gotten. She is just precious and I love her bratty, little guts. She smiles like this every time she sees the light on the camera. What a Ham!!

One down....Three to go.

Like most homes built in the 1970's our couldn't escape the curse of the "popcorn" ceiling. Oh, how I have loathed it for the past 5 1/2 years we've lived here. So last week I got on the phone and gave my friend John the Handy Man a call to see when he could come relieve my house of it. He said he would be by next week.

So yesterday he showed up at 8:30am and began the removal process. I thought we would start with the boys room since they have bunk beds and are always picking at this cancerous stuff whilst sitting on the top bunk. He had all the "popcorn" down by 10:00am and was done texturing by 2:00pm. That was fast!

Hopefully we will have the other three rooms done by the end of the year. So if anyone shares this awful "popcorn" ceiling curse with me and needs a handy man to do the job. Consider my friend John. Call me for his number.

Goal for today....

My goal for today is to not get mad at my kids.....and Jear-bear. Which means I can't listen to my music on my ipod while working. That is my angry running music. I"ll save it for later tonight when I run.

First post in forever!!

So I decided to post something so my dear sister doesn't decide to Hi-jack my blog again.

I've been feeling a bit trapped lately which is weird because I am by no means unhappy. I just get this"What is all this for" feeling. I love my husband, family, and calling. Some times I even love my job. This summer I had a wake up call though. It happened after along day of work. My youngest was in the bathroom doing his business, then he called for Allie the babysitter to come supervise. She had of course gone home so I went in to offer my assistance. He wanted nothing to do with his "absentee" mother, only Allie would suffice. After some coaxing he let me help and that's when I realized, I suck! I suck as a mom and I don't do anything for my self ever. I don't do "grand" things that will make my kids amazed by me. I let my job and calling consume me. Which leaves little to no time left for Jarred and the boys. So I revamped my work schedule to work less hours, and decided to start training for my first 10k November 13th. It's amazing what a difference this has made in my home. My kids want to run, my husband wants to run, we are all eating healthier, which in turn makes us all be in better moods. I know I'm a long way from being that "Super Mom" I hear so much about but I feel like I atleast have a good start on a more fulfilling future. Hopefully it will be be a future much more goal oriented, where my family is able to reach happy milestone after milestone. Wish us luck!

The Newest Member of the Truschke Family......

This last weekend we got to go to Willcox for the blessing of Jarred's brother Jonathan's baby girl. This is the first Truschke girl, that we know of other that his dad's sister. Because this was such a momentous occasion I wanted to do something special so I asked if I could make the blessing dress and they said I could. My SIL Amy told me she wanted daisy's.

I wasn't sure how I was gonna do that until I saw these little daisy's in the ribbon aisle and then everything just came together. I was super excited at how good it turned out. A big thanks to my mom and sister Kachelle for all the help in making this dress. I couldn't have done it without you!!
Baby Ellis is seriously the sweetest baby. She's always so agreeable. I guess she's just so happy to be here after waiting almost 5 years. She truly is a miracle to all the Truschke's.
This is Jarred, and his two brother's Jonathan and Derek and his Mom Diane and Dad Gary. Diane is really a great mom to have raised 3 boys. I always joke and say any mom who has 3 or more boys gets a pass strait to heaven, NO questions asked. Gary is an amazing Bompa, such a sucker for his grandkids. It always cracks me up to see the thing these kids get him to do.
Here's all the boys. Us girls felt a little out numbered. Way too much testosterone if you ask me.
This is Amy's Family. They are so sweet and always laugh at my dumb jokes. I love hanging out with them. They are also really supportive of Jonathan and Amy and their decisions. Her dad Fred reminds me so much of my own dad.
Family of Four....Finally. I'm sure there were times when Jonathan and Amy thought they would never get to expand their family. I can't count the time we fasted and prayed for them to get the chance So, so Happy for them.

Us too! I think Oliver was a Baby the last time we took a picture here in front of this tree as a family. So it was time.
These 3 boys are just obsessed with Baby Ellis. Simon heard Evann say things about"his sister" while we were there so when we got home all Simon can talk about is his sister. I don't think he get's the whole cousin relation thing yet. I love this picture though. Captures them so well.
Just had to put this one on too 'cuz she is so stinkin' sweet!!!

To The Grouchy Old Fart behind me....

Normally when I go to the store I'm all business, get in and get out. Today however I was a bit more congenial. Maybe it was all the cool, fresh air I got blasted with from driving my Hubs Suzuki Samurai. Anyway I found all my items for the most part and was pretty pumped about all the killer deals I got. Like any thrifty shopper would, I asked for my rain checks on the three items they didn't have so I could be on my way. However some "Grouchy Old Fart" came up right behind the cashier on her motorized wheel chair and began clearing her throat and coughing, really raising a commotion. When no one paid her any attention she said, "What on earth is the problem?" Now, it couldn't have taken more than 1 1/2 minutes for the nice cashier to write the rain checks out but this old terd became very irate. I very politely, looked at her and said, "I'm getting my rain checks:o)." She then began to rant and rave about how she always chooses the slowest lane, blah, blah, blah.....When I was done rather than say something mean, I just said,"Now it's your turn:o)."
3 All detergent, 2 peanut butters, 1 oatmeal, 8 boxes cereal, 4 progresso soup, 12 canned veg, 6 mashed potato pouches, 3 green giant steamers, 8 power bars, 3 pkgs. gogurt, 10lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, 3pkg. hefty plastic cups, 3 boxes toaster pastry, 1 box oven bags, 2 boxes aluminum foil.
I just wish she would have been waiting in line behind me long enough to see my sweet savings. she got there after my receipt printed. I'll post my deal here just in case the Mean Old Bitty is ever out blog surfing. I spent $74.35 and saved $124.05. Bet her deal wasn't even close to mine. Grouchy or Bag!!
