The Newest Member of the Truschke Family......

This last weekend we got to go to Willcox for the blessing of Jarred's brother Jonathan's baby girl. This is the first Truschke girl, that we know of other that his dad's sister. Because this was such a momentous occasion I wanted to do something special so I asked if I could make the blessing dress and they said I could. My SIL Amy told me she wanted daisy's.

I wasn't sure how I was gonna do that until I saw these little daisy's in the ribbon aisle and then everything just came together. I was super excited at how good it turned out. A big thanks to my mom and sister Kachelle for all the help in making this dress. I couldn't have done it without you!!
Baby Ellis is seriously the sweetest baby. She's always so agreeable. I guess she's just so happy to be here after waiting almost 5 years. She truly is a miracle to all the Truschke's.
This is Jarred, and his two brother's Jonathan and Derek and his Mom Diane and Dad Gary. Diane is really a great mom to have raised 3 boys. I always joke and say any mom who has 3 or more boys gets a pass strait to heaven, NO questions asked. Gary is an amazing Bompa, such a sucker for his grandkids. It always cracks me up to see the thing these kids get him to do.
Here's all the boys. Us girls felt a little out numbered. Way too much testosterone if you ask me.
This is Amy's Family. They are so sweet and always laugh at my dumb jokes. I love hanging out with them. They are also really supportive of Jonathan and Amy and their decisions. Her dad Fred reminds me so much of my own dad.
Family of Four....Finally. I'm sure there were times when Jonathan and Amy thought they would never get to expand their family. I can't count the time we fasted and prayed for them to get the chance So, so Happy for them.

Us too! I think Oliver was a Baby the last time we took a picture here in front of this tree as a family. So it was time.
These 3 boys are just obsessed with Baby Ellis. Simon heard Evann say things about"his sister" while we were there so when we got home all Simon can talk about is his sister. I don't think he get's the whole cousin relation thing yet. I love this picture though. Captures them so well.
Just had to put this one on too 'cuz she is so stinkin' sweet!!!

To The Grouchy Old Fart behind me....

Normally when I go to the store I'm all business, get in and get out. Today however I was a bit more congenial. Maybe it was all the cool, fresh air I got blasted with from driving my Hubs Suzuki Samurai. Anyway I found all my items for the most part and was pretty pumped about all the killer deals I got. Like any thrifty shopper would, I asked for my rain checks on the three items they didn't have so I could be on my way. However some "Grouchy Old Fart" came up right behind the cashier on her motorized wheel chair and began clearing her throat and coughing, really raising a commotion. When no one paid her any attention she said, "What on earth is the problem?" Now, it couldn't have taken more than 1 1/2 minutes for the nice cashier to write the rain checks out but this old terd became very irate. I very politely, looked at her and said, "I'm getting my rain checks:o)." She then began to rant and rave about how she always chooses the slowest lane, blah, blah, blah.....When I was done rather than say something mean, I just said,"Now it's your turn:o)."
3 All detergent, 2 peanut butters, 1 oatmeal, 8 boxes cereal, 4 progresso soup, 12 canned veg, 6 mashed potato pouches, 3 green giant steamers, 8 power bars, 3 pkgs. gogurt, 10lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, 3pkg. hefty plastic cups, 3 boxes toaster pastry, 1 box oven bags, 2 boxes aluminum foil.
I just wish she would have been waiting in line behind me long enough to see my sweet savings. she got there after my receipt printed. I'll post my deal here just in case the Mean Old Bitty is ever out blog surfing. I spent $74.35 and saved $124.05. Bet her deal wasn't even close to mine. Grouchy or Bag!!

It's going to space....and back!

So no matter how hard I try, I can't quite get my sweet mom to grasp the concept of Voice Mail. Like many Americans I have surrendered my phone to Cellular technology. Gone are the days of coming home to hear the last words of a message being left on my digital answering machine. My mother just hasn't gotten to that point yet. For example just today I got a message saying,"Koe, Koelyn? Sarah Palin is on Oprah. That's channel 3. Turn it there now and record it ok. Just thought you would like to know that. I sure hope you can hear me. Ok love ya. Bye-bye."
God love her, she is a sweet lady, but I'm afraid she's the only delusional woman I have room in my life for. So unless mom suddenly says, "Koe, I'm Dunzo with you!" I'm afraid I will not ever be watching any of Sarah Palin's TV appearances.

Swimming....

Oliver's kindergarten teacher Merrilee teaches swim lessons with her DIL Jodee during the Summer. Oliver's a pretty good swimmer, but he still wanted to have lessons with her. So I signed him and Simon up. It was so fun. Everyday had a theme. Here's a couple I actually remembered to take pictures for.

Crazy Swimsuit Day!

Oliver turned his and Simon's suits inside out . Simon got red, blue and green dots in his hair...

...while Oliver got a more subtle pony tail mo-hawk.

On Duck day, I couldn't get a picture of Simon with a duck because I was in the pool with him for the first week. So this is his picture after.

Here's Oliver with the duck though. There were 3 ducklings swimming around the pool with the kids. They absolutely loved it. Not sure how the ducks felt.
Some of the other favorite days were: Turtle visit (actual Turtle swimming in the pool), penny dive, and game day. It was so much fun I'll be signing them up next Summer too. Thanks Merrilee and Jodee for a great start to the Summer!

Birthday and Temple visit...

May 15th Oliver's 6th Birthday!

I decided the day before Oliver's birthday to actually plan something. So I called two of his classmates mothers and then two neighbor boys to see if they could come over after school.

I had them bring swim suits and towels and them we did Slip-n-slide and swimming for the next two hours. After that I had them come in so we could make basketball jerseys. I just got a pack of wife beaters and fabric markers so they could draw on their own. It was hilarious because the numbers they put on them were," 300, 1007, 100,000, and 24." I loved it.

The boys loved it too because they all put them on immediately and wore them for the rest of the party.

After that, they each made their own pizzas. I just got the grands buttermilk biscuits, had them each pat one down and put tomato sauce and toppings on it. Yummy!

Oliver told me after they all went home around 7:30 that it was his best birthday EVER! Nice, because it was also the cheapest. We did BounceU last year for his fifth and that was way expensive. Plus he doesn't even remember it. This one he still talks about.

We ended the day with a trip to Cold Stone Creamery

The next morning he had a temple trip with the primary kids. Oliver loves to go to the temple and learn ab0ut Jesus. He always asks if we can go there so he can see the Christus.

He wanted me to take a picture of him there too.

Here's all the kids that came in front of the Christus. Oliver's on the left. Love that kid!

I tried to get a nice picture of the temple with just Oliver, but I was in a hurry and didn't get it centered and then other people walked into it. Still not too bad considering I took this with my camera phone.
